A Joke Every Day – 145 – Sushi Bars

Working on this joke was a good example of why this project is worthwhile, because it really forced me to take a joke I had an idea for (that sushi bars were somehow like mean aquariums) and flesh it out into a more specific joke. Then the 2nd part made me work on the act out which helped me realize the “you’re fired” type talk that was going to go with the piece. This took a long time to make so I hope it’s funny. What’s sad to think about is that somebody probably said the same thing after they finished filming on Father of the Bride part II. Comedy is tough. My gut tells me this is a good concept and structure, but I’m not sure if the punches are quite right. But then again I’m exhausted so what do I know. Also, I’m technically on vacation right now… oy!
Fish Mongers: Please don’t steal my jokes. They’re distinctly hydrophobic (because they’re part cat), so I doubt they’ll really fit with you’re wares.
