BRIDE WEDDING SPEECHES -
For most people, giving a speech – any speech, for any occasion – is pretty big news. Statistics show that public speaking consistently ranks in the top 3 major phobias for the average American (and incidentally, those same statistics would also indicate that the average American is more afraid of making a speech than they are of death -!)
Even someone who considers themselves reasonably well practiced at making speeches will often quail from the very idea of making a speech at someone’s wedding. Wedding speeches are the very epitome of what’s terrifying about public speaking: not only do you have to cater for an extremely diverse audience, but the weight of expectation on you to improve the day even more is positively staggering.
So imagine all this from the perspective of the bride -! As the focus of the day, the pressure’s on to give a speech that’s warm, witty, personal, meaningful, and that complements her position as the queen of the day.
That’s no small task!
Fortunately, help is at hand: Sally Samuels, a professional speech-writer with a palpable gift for humor, has written a book that caters specifically to the speech-making needs of the bride on her big day.
SO WHAT DO YOU GET?
Instantly downloadable from www.weddingspeech4u.com, Bride Speeches: Beautiful Words for a Beautiful Occasion is the ultimate speech-making encyclopedia, designed with the bride’s needs, responsibilities, and requirements in mind.
The book aims (and succeeds admirably) to not only supply you with a great selection of sample speeches, but teaches you how to write your very own speech from scratch, too – so if you’re strapped for time or ideas (and, really, is there any such thing as a bride with spare time on her hands?) you can quickly and easily piece together a great speech from the professionally-written samples on hand; or, for the more creative brides-to-be with a real hankering for a truly individual speech, you learn how to construct your very own speech – with detailed instructions from the professionals.
IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE SPEECHES
Yes, the main angle of the book is definitely aimed at covering the speech: how to write it, how to be funny, how to include emotion, how to reach out and touch your audience, how to make them fall out of their seats with laughter, how to deliver a quality speech with pride and unshakeable confidence.
But it’s not just about the speech-writing process, or even the delivery itself: Bride Speeches: Beautiful Words for a Beautiful Occasion covers just about every single aspect of bride-dom that you could hope to know about.
Let’s take a look at what you get in the book:
- Access to 20 professionally written, top quality speeches for the Bride (and did I mention that these have been designed so that you can pick and choose the parts that are relevant to you? Simply by changing names, you can create a personalized, individualized speech that’s perfect for your own occasion!)

Bride Speech
Bride Speeches Add to the Day
By Niamh Crowe
Bride speeches or bridal speeches are really a fairly recent happening. After all, until fairly recently women were not liberated enough to speak at their own weddings. Today what they have to say is just as important as the father of the groom’s speeches or the best man’s speeches. If the groom can say how much his bride means to him, surely his bride can return the compliment?
Bride speeches, therefore, love in tone. They usually express the gratitude a bride feels to the parents who have done so much for her. They may include words of appreciation to her new in-laws saying how welcoming they have been to her. It is almost certain that she will want to say thanks to other people too. Her bridesmaids or maids of honour will be thanked for their help in preparing the wedding festivities and perhaps choosing her wedding gown with her. She may want to refer to a favourite Godmother or grandmother or indeed any relative who is special to her. It could be that she would want to thank a friend who sang at her wedding or a neighbour who arranged her bouquet. She may even want to thank a member of the clergy for a lovely and very personal wedding ceremony.
Obviously new husbands are the most special of all to any bride. It is to them that most bride speeches are directed. Brides may refer to where they met their grooms or tell of an incident in their courtships. They may want to say what a difference their new husbands have made in their lives. Of course they may also want to tease those new husbands and tell them that their wandering days are now firmly over or that they have to provide lots of shopping money as part of those marriage contracts.
There are often three or four speeches at a wedding so the secret of a good one is that it should be short and succinct A touch of humour will add greatly to it and of course the bride will know of any funny incidents that happened during the busy preparations for the wedding.
Above all though bride speeches should reflect the love brides feel for their spouses. They should be quite open about how they feel for the men in the lives. After all it isn’t every day that you can do that.

Bride Speeches
Bride Speech – What To Include
By Bev Langford
Many brides decide to present a small speech at the wedding reception, but before starting on your speech draft it is important to know what you should include. It is not essential for the bride to present a speech; after all there are plenty of other things that must have your attention on the days leading up to your wedding. That being said, the bride saying a few words is becoming a popular, modern addition to the formal speeches.
Brides are often choosing to write and present their own speech to add a personal touch to the wedding reception and to personally thank those who have made their wedding such a special and memorable day.
Start with the Welcome
Start your speech by welcoming the wedding guests and thank them for attending your big day. You might also want to add a few words of appreciation to those who have travelled a long distance. It is also a lovely touch if you thank the family elders for making the effort to attend. Your Grandparents or great Aunts and Uncles will be impressed that you have remembered them.
Next, the Thank You’s.
As the bride there are many people you will want to thank, those that have helped you make the day really special. These are the people you might like to mention.
- The Groom.
- Your Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor for their help and support.
- Your parents – especially your mother.
- Grooms parents – for their contribution.
- The Best Man and Groomsmen for supporting the Groom.
Writing your Speech Draft.
Before writing your speech draft it is important to speak to all the other speech presenters and see if you are doubling up on thanking the same people. The wedding guests might get bored if the same people are thanked over and again. The bride saying a special thank you to the mother of the bride and the groom is usually expected.
Order of Formal Speeches.
Wedding Speeches traditional running order during the wedding reception is as follows:
- Father of the Bride.
- Groom’s Speech.
- Best Man’s Speech.
The modern running order of the wedding speeches is also becoming very popular:
- Father of the Bride’s Speech.
- Mother of the Bride’s Speech.
- Groom’s Speech.
- Bride’s Speech.
- Best Man’s Speech.
- Maid of Honor Speech.
A word about the Wedding Speech Order.
Just because this is the typical order of wedding speeches that doesn’t mean you have to do it this way. Many brides choose to present their welcome speech at the beginning, just after arriving at the reception. This is a good idea if you only want to personally wish a warm welcome to the wedding guests and not present a formal speech.
Duration of the Speeches.
The bride should plan for her speech to run between two and five minutes. Plan all of the speeches to be five minutes or less. If your wedding is going to have all six speech presenters, the time soon adds up. With change over from presenter to next presenter the speeches can easily run over forty minutes and the wedding guests will be getting bored if the speeches run over forty five minutes.
A bride speech is a wonderful and lovely addition to the formal wedding speeches and if you are still feeling a bit lost or can’t make a start, there is help at hand.
Next, discover how you can plan, write and complete your bride speech in just a few hours. Your Bride Speech can be a triumph and be remembered by your wedding guests, friends and family for years to come for all the right reasons.
